Delving deeper, she continued: “A lot of people have had bad experiences! Guy Chambers said that people shouldn’t join boy bands until they’re 18 as one suggestion to protect children,” as cited by the Manchester Evening News. Wrapping up her point, Susanna asserted: “But you’re embracing of your 14-year-old self’s experience; you’ve had no experiences that relate to that.”, as reported by the Mirror.
However, Donny Osmond intervened to adjust the record, stating: “Well that’s not quite ‘true’. That’s not quite ‘true’.”
He confided: “I went through a very difficult time of transitioning from a teeny bopper to an adult entertainer and for people to accept all of that it was a very difficult transition.”
Donny Osmond explained how he transitioned from his teen idol status to being accepted as an adult: “But what happened with me was that I was accepted for when Soldier Blood came out and when Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat came out, when I won Dancing with the Stars or Strictly.”
He noted that participating in such shows played a significant role in rebranding him as a grown-up artist. “Those type of shows helped to establish me as an adult. It’s a lot easier to go back and embrace the teeny-bopper career because I was already accepted as an adult,” he shared.
Having started his career at just five years old performing alongside his older siblings in The Osmonds, Donny has enjoyed an illustrious career spanning multiple decades. His solo venture in the 1970s further cemented his success, yielding numerous top 10 hits and gold-certified albums.
