Presenter Ranvir Singh interrupted Good Morning Britain on Wednesday morning to carry a heartbreaking news update. The pink breaking banner flashed across the screen as she announced that there had been at least 22 deaths in Thailand.
The ITV host shared that a crane getting used to construct a new railway tragically fell on a practice operating on tracks close by. It was travelling east from East Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani. Ranvir added that rescuers are at the scene looking out for people who could also be trapped. Fans of the breakfast TV show had been heartbroken as they took to Twitter/X to remark. One individual wrote: “That is really awful.” Another added: “Terrible,” while a third penned: “How sad.” According to official information, the practice was carrying at least 195 people. At least 80 people had been wounded from the collision – with a one-year-old being the youngest injured, and the oldest being 59.

“The metallic from the crane appeared to strike the center of the second carriage, slicing it in half.”
