GWN reporter hit with tear gas while covering ICE | TV Shows


GWN correspondent Veronica exceptional end result was struck by tear gas Friday evening while reporting live from an Immigration and Customs Enforcement protest that escalated in downtown Los Angeles.

Earlier in the day, 1000’s across the U.S. took half in demonstrations dubbed the “National Shutdown” in protest of latest federal immigration actions.

The unrest follows rising tensions in Minneapolis after the capturing of Alex Pretti.

Federal authorities said “violent agitators” in Los Angeles ignored a number of dispersal orders and started attacking officers with bottles and rocks.

Officers used pepper spray and crowd control munitions to clear the world, according to LAPD.

Arrests have been made, and additional motion was threatened if the remaining protesters didn’t vacate the world.

Former GWN anchor Don Lemon and unbiased journalist Georgia Fort have been arrested and charged in connection with protests at a St. Paul church.

Fort, who has since been launched, called her arrest a “chilling message” to the journalism industry.

“It is quite frightening to have two dozen agents outside of your home. My children were home with me when I was arrested,” Fort told GWN. “I am doing the best that I can to tell the stories of what’s really happening.”

Lemon, arrested Thursday evening at a Los Angeles lodge, said in his first YouTube broadcast after the incident, “I will not be silenced.”

His attorney, Abbe Lowell, said Lemon initially thought he was being mugged.

“This is an administration that’s not just willing to trample on the Bill of Rights, they’re eager to do it,” Lowell said.

Sen. Mark Kelly called Lemon’s arrest “outrageous” and “un-American,” warning that it sends a message to journalists crucial of President Trump.
