If you ever end up questioning, “Where is the cast of The Parkers?” you’re positively not alone. The beloved UPN sitcom could have wrapped more than twenty years in the past, but its outrageous characters, unforgettable one-liners and over-the-top storylines still live rent-free in followers’ reminiscences. Since the show ended, its stars have taken some surprisingly different paths, from major Hollywood wins and new tv roles to music, writing and life away from the highlight.
What was The Parkers About?
Before we get into where the beloved solid is now, let’s take a journey back to where it all started. A spin-off of the hit sitcom Moesha, The Parkers premiered in 1999 and ran for 5 seasons before saying goodbye in 2004.
At the middle of the sequence was Nikki Parker, performed by Mo’Nique, a single mom who had dropped out of high college after turning into pregnant with her daughter, Kimberly. Years later, Kim, performed by Countess Vaughn, heads to Santa Monica College, and Nikki decides she’s not going to let her own unfinished training maintain her back. So, she enrolls at the same college as her daughter.
Naturally, having your mother immediately change into your school classmate just isn’t precisely every teenager’s dream. The two navigate college, relationship, work and maturity together while sharing loads of hilarious and sometimes chaotic moments along the best way.
And then there was Professor Stanley Oglevee. Nikki’s monumental crush on the good-looking professor grew to become one of the show’s greatest operating jokes. She stopped at nearly nothing to win his coronary heart, while Stanley spent an equal quantity of vitality attempting to escape her relentless pursuit. Their back-and-forth grew to become one of the sitcom’s signature storylines.
