Your only Sunday evening activity is to watch “Task.”
“Task,” is the most recent HBO drama miniseries. It premieres tonight, Sept. 7, at 9 p.m. on the community and its HBO Max streaming service.
The new collection comes from Brad Inglesby, maybe best identified for creating, writing, and producing another HBO Sunday evening hit, 2021’s “Mare of Easttown.”
Like “Mare,” “Task” is set in the Philadelphia suburbs. Mark Ruffalo stars as Tom, an FBI agent called on to lead a new activity drive for the bureau. Per HBO’s official synopsis, Tom’s activity drive is put together “to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man (Tom Pelphrey).”
Themes of fatherhood, guilt, and damaged desires will probably be explored as the 2 males continue to orbit each other while also pulling others from their lives into the tangled web.
