Heres who Scott Patterson would want to play on…
There is no Stars Hollow without Luke.
However, Scott Patterson, 67, revealed that if he didn’t play the plaid-wearing diner proprietor in “Gilmore Girls,” there was another character he had his eye on portraying.
“If I had a chance to play any other character on that show, it would’ve been Kirk, talk about fun. I wanna be a hot dog for a day. Why not?” the actor teased.

Kirk, portrayed by Sean Gunn, took on odd jobs around the quaint city, one time dressing as a giant sizzling canine, working at the sweetness store, and being a helpful man.
The drama, which ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007, adopted Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), a single mother who lived in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, with her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel).

The show also featured Lorelai’s rich dad and mom, Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop) and Richard Gilmore (Edward Herrmann), along with her best pal and chef at the Independence Inn, Sookie (Melissa McCarthy).
Herrmann died in 2014 at the age of 71.
Now, Patterson has been rewatching the collection for his new podcast, “I Am All In…Again! with Scott Patterson.”

Which has given him a new appreciation for Kirk.
“I think there’s a world where if we don’t get to do any more episodes or do any more films, which I think we will, but don’t have any information on that, what could be really fun is if somebody financed a real full-length Kirk feature film. Like ‘A Film by Kirk,’” mused Patterson. “I think there’s a world where that could live and thrive and be number one at the box office, ‘A Film by Kirk.’”
When it comes to Luke, the “Sullivan’s Crossing” star confessed. “I’m not as tight as him. I like to hang out and laugh, and joke around. I’m probably more like Lorelai than I am Luke.”
But Patterson knew he was always meant to play the kindhearted resident.

“When I read the pilot, I thought, ‘Yeah, that’s not gonna be hard.’ It felt like it was written for me,” he said. “When you feel like you don’t want anybody else to play the character, ’cause you know you can nail that, then you should probably do that role.”
And Patterson is hopeful that followers will get to expertise the attraction of Stars Hollow once more.
“I’d love to do a Christmas special,” he solely told The Post earlier this week.

Patterson added, “The fans want content, so we’re doing our darnedest to get it to them. So maybe it’ll happen again, hopefully in a Christmas special that Amy and Lauren are talking about. I think there’s some intention there. But, who knows.”
The show’s creator, Amy Sherman Palladino, and Graham, 58, both shared this yr that they’d have an interest in a “Gilmore Girls” Christmas particular.

Patterson exclaimed, “I don’t know that that’s an accident. I think maybe they’re signaling to each other that that is what they want, what they could do and manage in their busy schedule.”
“Gilmore Girls” was briefly revived in 2016 with Netflix’s “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.”
If “Gilmore Girls” did come back for a Christmas particular, Patterson is hopeful that Luke and Lorelai would still be together.
“They’re forever. I mean, they’ll never change. They’re rock solid.”

Patterson gushed that Luke and Lorelai are “two people who are wildly independent. They don’t need each other to get through life, but want to be with each other. That’s powerful. So, I think that glue stays.”
