Huge Chinese Marriage-Fraud Network Taken Down –

The Department of Justice announced on Wednesday that they’d arrested 11 suspects who they’re accusing of operating a decade-long marriage rip-off that organized faux weddings to help overseas nationals — principally Chinese — get inexperienced playing cards. U.S. Attorney Jamie McDonald for the Southern District of New York said it was one of the “largest marriage fraud schemes charged in United States history.”

Each defendant has been charged with one depend of conspiracy to commit marriage fraud and immigration fraud, crimes that carry a most penalty of 5 years in prison. Schemes like this are a deliberate affront to the United States and our laws and will not be tolerated under the Trump Administration.”

They’d put on a marriage ceremony, then afterward they’d create a life of images and social media posts and open financial accounts to show what a glad couple they had been. The recruiters would pay the American stooges around $30,000 for their efforts.

Now, it seems like these scammers will soon be getting divorced — from their freedom.
