Former President Joe Biden’s controversial son, Hunter Biden, issued prolonged advice to Democrats following the New York primaries on Tuesday, where progressives supported by Mayor Zohran Mamdani gained big.
The youthful Biden took to X on Wednesday to share his take on the progressive wave that overtook New York City on Tuesday. In current weeks, Biden joined the social community, rapidly changing into viral over his blunt posts and Republican trolling.
“I’m not running for office,” Biden wrote. “But if I were, these are some of the lessons I’d take away from what happened in NY yesterday.”
He continued by itemizing seven factors he believed could be essential for Democrats to think about forward of November’s midterm elections.
“1. Authenticity is measurable. Voters can smell a focus group from a mile away,” he wrote. “2. Endorsements from the current Democratic leadership now read like warnings. The establishment wing of the party is no longer a sword. It’s a question mark.”

“3. Conviction beats caution. The candidates who said hard things about rent, about who pays for what, about Gaza, they won. The triangulators lost,” Biden added. “4. Cost of living is everything. Everything else is wallpaper.”
He continued by arguing that average candidates are no longer good enough for voters, as Americans need to elect somebody “who actually believes in something.” The sixth piece of advice urged the celebration to embrace its voters, not run away from them, while the seventh inspired future candidates that “if you want to lead a party you have to be willing to fight inside it. Mamdani didn’t ask permission. He took the field.”
“The lesson under the lessons: the country is tired of being managed. People want to be led,” he added.
Users on social media celebrated the youthful Biden’s post, with some arguing that the Democratic Party is experiencing a vital change in the period of President Donald Trump.

“Agree with everything but the last one. We don’t want to be led. We want OUR NEEDS to lead! We want our leaders to DO THINGS FOR US instead of for the billionaires and corporate donors!!” one person wrote. Biden responded by including, “Better put! Agreed.”
“I think voters want real leaders who fight for everyday issues like rent, jobs and affordable health care. Authenticity wins,” another one argued.
Mamdani-led progressives win big in the Big Apple
Biden’s post comes as New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani waded into Democratic U.S. House primaries to increase three progressives over establishment-backed candidates. All of them gained Tuesday, defeating two incumbents and primarily guaranteeing that two self-described democratic socialists will likely be elected to Congress in their deep blue districts.
The mayor said it was a query of electing “better Democrats” who would “put working people back at the heart of politics.” The strategy consternated some in Democratic management, but the result showcased Mamdani’s rising affect.
In the first for retiring U.S. Rep. Nydia Velázquez’s seat, state Assembly Member Claire Valdez beat out Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. Valdez was endorsed by Mamdani, and Reynoso was endorsed by Velázquez.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Adriano Espaillat misplaced his bid for reelection to Darializa Avila Chevalier, another Mamdani-backed democratic socialist. Avila Chevalier hasn’t held public workplace before and once helped arrange pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University.
A 3rd candidate backed by Mamdani, former metropolis comptroller Brad Lander, defeated U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman by working to his political left. The race partly revolved around the struggle in Gaza, with Lander assailing Goldman for not being crucial enough of Israel.
All three victors are anticipated to win their blue districts, which might also place three Mamdani allies in Congress come January.
