Scrubs, which initially aired between 2001 and 2010, is one of my favorite reveals. Widely recognised as one of the most correct representations of medication on screen, the unique collection was a staple in my home growing up. I beloved the way in which that Scrubs might make you chortle one minute and cry the next — I couldn’t think about that a reboot would do something to improve on that.

I have never been so glad to have been incorrect.

The Scrubs reboot brings back the unique main solid: Carla (Judy Reyes), Elliot (Sara Chalke), Turk (Donald Faison) and JD (Zach Braff) as J.D returns to Sacred Heart to step into the footwear of the formidable Dr Cox (John C McGinley).

McGinley offers a blistering efficiency as Dr Perry Cox, a man who readily admits the world has handed him and his specific model of powerful love educating by. He passes the mantle of Chief of Medicine to J.D in a touching second where J.D finally will get the popularity he has always craved from his mentor.

Due to scheduling conflicts, McGinley couldn’t reprise a full time function, instead showing alongside Reyes as a “reoccuring guest star” which is the only real pitfall of the reboot so far.

The reboot completely nails the stability of humour and actuality. There’s familiarity in the previous dream sequences where J.D envisions every thing from “the feelings police” to a no-holds barred wrestling match with his ex spouse, but the solid also get a likelihood to showcase their unbelievable ability.

One of the standout scenes is Faison’s portrayal of burnout. Now the Chief of Surgery and a father of 4, Turk is struggling to cope with the relentlessness of a life lived in hospital working rooms. After wishing aloud to his interns that his affected person would die “all at once rather than in little pieces”, he faces down J.D and delivers an unbelievable monologue about just how dire the job may be.

“There’s no joy,” he admits, holding back tears. “None.”

It’s the right instance of what Scrubs has always finished best — set you up with a mild, straightforward humour, and then smacked you down with a gutpunch of actuality.

The reboot is true to the format of the unique, and so far holds itself up as one of the best reboots I have ever seen. It has enough of the previous solid, and with new interns, conflicts and characters, I actually can’t wait to see what the remainder of the season brings.

The first three episodes of the reboot can be found to stream on Disney+, with the remaining six to be launched weekly and after watching the first three with nothing short of pleasure, I can’t wait for the remainder.
