Rockabilly icons The Stray Cats have said they’re “heartbroken” after being forced to cancel their tour as singer and guitarist Brian Setzer, 66, is struggling from a “serious illness”. The trio, fashioned in 1979 by Brian alongside double bassist Lee Rocker and drummer Slim Jim Phantom, was due to undertake a 21-date tour of the US, with the first date scheduled for Halloween, October 31. However, they’ve confirmed the tour is now off with no point out of rescheduling and followers are being suggested that refunds can be found at the purpose of buy.

In a post on the band’s official social media pages, Brian wrote: “I’m heartbroken to share that, due to serious illness, I am unable to perform and very regrettably have to cancel our Stray Cats tour. I know this affects so many people, and I am devastated to have to deliver this news. I’ve been trying everything I can to go on and do these shows, but it is just not possible. I’ve been looking forward so much to being on stage with my band mates again and playing for all of our amazing fans, and I’m gutted.”

In February this yr, Brian revealed he had been identified with an autoimmune disease that causes his fingers to cramp, which he said makes it really feel like he’s “wearing a pair of gloves” when attempting to play.

The sickness has impacted his potential to carry out even basic duties; however, he was being handled at the world-famous Mayo Clinic, and prior to these cancellations, he had expressed optimism about his recovery. 

Although disillusioned by the news, followers flooded the legend with help in the feedback. “Get better, buddy! We’ll be here when you’re good to go! Cats have 9 lives!” One wrote.

A 3rd chimed in: “Your fans will be here, waiting to hear you Rock This Town when you’re feeling better. We’re all pulling for you, Brian!”

A fourth shared: “Get well, my man! Positive thoughts, well wishes, and good juju to you.
You’ve inspired and touched so many lives with your unmatched talents. For that, I, personally, will be forever grateful! Chin up and stay focused on yourself.”

A fifth penned: “Your playing saved my life! Please take care of yourself now! I hope to see the three of you on stage again! I’ll wait forever.”

Meanwhile a sixth commented: “Thinking of you and sending good healing vibes your way @briansetzer59 ! Take care of yourself, we are behind you all the way.”
