If Youre illegal, You Got a Problem – RedState | Political News

It’s a little baffling, this notion that appears so prevalent on the Left that just because a particular person broke one law and (so far) no other, that they need to one way or the other get a cross on the one law they broke. That sounds wonderful, but that is the stance the Left takes in unlawful immigration; if a particular person breaks the law getting into the nation illegally, they’re one way or the other excused unless they commit some extra crime.

Border Czar Tom Homan, talking to CBS News, slammed the door on that notion. Watch:

Here’s how that dialog went; the CBS interviewer was referring to Representative Maria Salazar (FL-27).

Tom Homan: Where have we gone too far?

CBS: She (Salazar) cited the statistic that 50 p.c if ICE detainees haven’t got a legal charge or conviction.

Tom Homan: Are they in the nation illegally?

CBS: Yes.

Tom Homan: They’re deportable, by federal law. She’s a member of Congress.

CBS: So are hundreds of thousands of people.

Tom Homan: Yeah. If you are in the nation illegally, you have obtained a drawback. You should not be right here.

A Saturday article from CBS commented on Homan’s remarks and on his stances on immigration coverage.

He argued a lot of the criticism is “about hate on this administration and taking on Trump,” pointing to ICE’s high arrest and deportation figures during the Obama administration, when Homan was a senior official at the company.

Pressed on the growing GOP criticism, Homan said: “I wish they’d sit down and talk to ICE. I wish they’d find out: What is ICE doing? How are they doing it? And educate themselves.”

There’s one thing to that. These same people protesting, interfering with ICE operations, screaming about arrests and deportations/repatriations, had been surprisingly silent during the Obama years, when Tom Homan was doing just about the same job he’s doing now — and for which President Obama personally awarded him a 2015 Presidential Rank Award for his work in shifting unlawful aliens out of the United States.

Principals, not rules. These same people who had been silent during the Obama years are now angered at ICE, not because of what they’re doing, but because they’re doing it under the administration of President Trump. That’s all there may be to it. It’s not a humanitarian argument, it is not a legal argument, it is no argument at all; it is merely another manifestation of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and that’s all.

And, at the risk of repeating myself, this is yet another motive we’ve got to get out and vote next month; Democrat control of Congress will nearly definitely consequence in makes an attempt to defund ICE, to intervene with their operations, and to shield people who are in the nation illegally.

Tom Homan has the precise outlook right here. People who are in the nation illegally, no matter what they’ve achieved since getting into the nation against our immigration legal guidelines, are subject to detention and repatriation. The administration has been concentrating on the worst offenders first, and that’s acceptable, but Mr. Homan is true: If you are in the nation illegally, you have obtained a drawback. Next month, let’s vote to keep it that manner.

Editor’s Note: Democrat politicians and their radical supporters will do the whole lot they’ll to intervene with and threaten ICE brokers imposing our immigration legal guidelines.
