President Donald Trump said Iran “taking too long to negotiate a deal” so now “they will have to pay the price,” in a threatening Truth Social post Wednesday morning.

It comes as the U.S. and Israel have resumed their army campaigns in Tehran and Lebanon, respectively, launching strikes on army targets Tuesday and Wednesday. It has put a pressure on the already-fragile ceasefire that was supposed to stand for two months.

“Iran’s Military is a complete and total mess. Much of it, like their Navy and Air Force, doesn’t even exist anymore – They have been completely defeated. Iran is all talk and no action. The Bully of the Middle East is DEAD!!! They’ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” the president wrote. The that means behind the post stays unclear.

Peace talks among the three states have stalled tremendously this week after the U.S. president accused the Islamic Republic of downing a gunship close to the Strait of Hormuz, a very important oil passageway that has remained Tehran’s prime bargaining chip over the course of the struggle.

Trump also steered that Washington would continue the strikes on Iran in an interview with Fox News, including that he could goal bridges. “The president tells Fox News that he may keep going, and he is getting closer to the targeting of Iranian power plants and bridges,” Chief Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst said.

On Tuesday, President Trump called the retaliatory strikes on Iran a “proportional response” to the purported assault. However, Iran has not taken accountability for the assault. In a second Truth post minutes later, the president attacked the media for its coverage of the naval blockade of the strait, which he deemed “effective.”

“The Fake News Media refuses to report how EFFECTIVE the U.S. Naval BLOCKADE is, the most successful Blockade in the history of Naval Warfare. NOTHING GETS THROUGH unless we want it to. IT IS A STEEL WALL! Iran is doing ZERO business, not paying their military, or any of their bills, and quickly becoming a FAILED NATION! Lots of oil is getting out. Praise be to Allah! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he wrote.

The Islamic Republic said Tuesday it had retaliated against Washington by bombing its naval fleet. On Wednesday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it attacked U.S. bases in the area, including Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait.

Egypt’s international ministry said it “condemns in the strongest terms” Iran’s strikes.

The strikes, it said, “represent a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these sisterly countries, and a very dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the entire region.”

The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs appeared to concur, denouncing the strikes as “Iranian terrorist attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.” It subsequently offered complete solidarity with the three nations.

Iran’s attacks were a “flagrant breach of the rules of international law,” according to Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The agency added that the Islamic Republic should “spare the region the consequences of unjustified attacks, and to work toward de-escalation in order to restore security and stability regionally and internationally.”

Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, condemned “in the strongest terms the brutal Iranian attacks” against Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait. He expressed his deep concern over “Iran’s continued aggression against Arab territories as a means of escalation in its confrontation with other non-Arab states.”
