Influencer Peighton Tubre denies affair rumors…

A Louisiana-based soccer influencer has shut down web rumors linking her to having an affair with LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier after a “fake” article on Facebook claimed they had been seen coming into a lodge room together.

“I’d like to address some of the fake news that has been circulating about me on the internet,” Peighton Tubre, 26, said in a video uploaded to her more than 200k followers on Instagram Wednesday.

“Recently, there was an article posted on Facebook saying that I was having an affair with Garrett Nussmeier and that we were seen entering a hotel room together the night before one of his games.”

Tubre said that when she first noticed the article post, she didn’t pay it a lot thoughts because it wasn’t true and didn’t need to draw consideration to it, noting that it “had 30 likes.”

“I was hoping it was going to go away and no one would see it,” she said.

“Spoiler alert, everyone saw it. Everyone has seen it. People are blowing up my phone people are reaching out to my family members which is really weird.”

Instead of the rumors dying down, they only escalated additional.

“So today, somebody sends me another article that they posted saying that Garret sent me unsolicited photos that made me uncomfortable, and I posted the screenshots on social media, which, if you follow me, you know I didn’t post anything like that,” Tubre said.

“It is just fake, it is all fake. That’s really all I have to say, it is just fake,” she said at the end of her video.

The affair rumors come months after Nussmeier, 23, proposed to his hometown sweetheart, Ella Springfield, in July.

After a career-best 2024 season that noticed him rack up 4,052 passing yards and 29 touchdowns, Nussmeier opted to return to LSU for his fifth 12 months, telling the SEC Network in July that “God” introduced him back to LSU “for a reason.”

“I always wanted to win a national championship here,” he said.

The controversy comes as LSU navigates a disappointing season following the firing of head coach Brian Kelly last month. The Tigers at the moment maintain a 5–3 report, with losses to Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.

The Tigers, led now by interim head coach Frank Wilson, are prepared to face off against another fierce SEC rival, Alabama, on Saturday — one thing Tubre called out in the remark part of her video.

“They claim to be a LSU fanpage,” she commented about the web page posting the article about the pretend affair. “But posting THIS during bama week is opp behavior.”

Tubre addressed the affair rumors in a video uploaded to her Instagram on Wednesday.

Other followers of the soccer influencer also had her back, praising her for coming ahead to handle the rumors.

“Speak your truth. We always got your back and know you keep it classy. Proud of you young sis for speaking up and setting the record straight,” one Tigers’ fan commented.

“hostilityrs gonna hate and trolls gonna troll. Rise above,” commented another.

“I’m almost positive these fkn articles are just straight AI.. I’ve seen very similar stuff from another friend of mine & a celebrity that had absolutely no legs to stand on. Very intriguing,” commented another.
