Iran executes a student accused of spying for | Political News


Iran executed on Saturday a man convicted of spying for the Israeli intelligence and military, state media reported.

State TV recognized the executed man as Aghil Keshavarz, saying he had “close intelligence cooperation” with the Mossad and took pictures of Iranian navy and security areas.

Keshavarz, who was an structure student at Shahroud University, was arrested while taking footage of a navy headquarters in the northwestern metropolis of Urmia, some 600 kilometers (371 miles) northwest of the capital Tehran, in May. He was accused of finishing up more than 200 related assignments for the Mossad in numerous cities of Iran, including Tehran.
