Iranian Armed Forces say they’ll soon reply to U.S. assaults on ships in the Strait of Hormuz as the Trump administration’s blockade continues.

Local Iranian media reported on the attainable retaliation, citing the spokesman for the Central Headquarters of the Prophet of the Seal.

“The aggressor United States, in violation of the ceasefire and through piracy, attacked one of Iran’s commercial ships in the waters of the Sea of Oman by firing on it and disabling its navigation system by boarding it with a number of its terrorist marines,” the spokesman said, according to Tasnim News Agency, a news outlet related with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

“We warn that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will soon reply and retaliate for this armed piracy by the U.S. navy,” the spokesperson added.

The threats got here just moments after President Trump said it had taken custody of an Iranian cargo ship in a social media post on Sunday.

“Today, an Iranian-flagged cargo ship named TOUSKA, nearly 900 feet long and weighing almost as much as an aircraft carrier, tried to get past our Naval Blockade, and it did not go well for them. The TOUSKA is under U.S. Treasury Sanctions because of their prior history of illegal activity. We have full custody of the ship, and are seeing what’s on board!” the president added.

On Saturday, the navy of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps said it could close the Strait of Hormuz, deeming the Trump administration’s blockade a violation of the peace deal.

The nation’s joint navy command said: “control of the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its previous state… under strict management and control of the armed forces.”

It also warned that it could continue to block transit through the strait as long as the Trump administration’s blockade continues.
