In an interview with The Wrap before Season 3 was introduced, Turturro stated he’s had “open” conversations with Stiller, 59, and Erickson, 41, about bringing Irving back.
“If there’s stuff that’s good and active and interesting to do, then I could see that, yeah,” Turturro stated. “If people wanted there to be [a third season], there could be, and there could be big, big surprises too. You know, Irving’s left all those paintings behind. There’s a reason why they went into his apartment, why they’re looking around.”

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter after the penultimate episode, Turturro hinted he needs off “Severance” when he stated he’s “not used” to being on a multi-season collection.
“I’m used to doing a miniseries, a kind of arc,” the “Monk” star stated. “I guess they have some backstory [in ongoing series television], but still, you’re writing it and then there are other writers involved, and how people are reacting to it while watching it and all of those things.”

“So you don’t know who’s going to leave, who’s going to come back and, are they going to come back as their inside or outside selves?” he continued. “The whole thing is a mind warp!”
But Turturro did say that he wouldn’t be glad if Irving’s story ends with the prepare scene.
“If someone wanted the story to be complete? It could be! But I think there’s so much more here,” he stated.
