ITV has revealed which programme will take over from Betrayal in the schedules as the ultimate episode broadcasts tonight at 9pm.
The synopsis for the episode, which is obtainable to stream on ITVX, states, “With hours until the suspected attack on a university, John finds himself alone and in captivity.
“If he’s to save the lives of those at risk, he must discover a means of escape without alerting the lads who are holding him and the allies whom he can no longer trust.”
The concluding instalment of the drama, starring Shaun Evans as MI5 agent John Hughes and Beyond Paradise star Zahra Ahmadi, will air between 9pm and 10pm.
Based in Manchester, the series follows John as he balances a failing marriage with the demands of safeguarding national security, after becoming caught up in a perilous conspiracy involving an informant who’s killed before revealing vital intelligence, reports the Mirror.

The four episodes of Betrayal, which are available to stream on ITVX, have attracted mixed reactions from audiences.
Last week, the ITV drama triggered criticism from fans, with many claiming there were too many plot holes “too apparent to overlook”.
One posted on X, “Most indiscreet MI5 employee ever.”
“I believe an MI5 man would know to conceal a message on the lock screen,” another commented.
A third questioned: “After the 2 deaths at the start of #Betrayal episode 1, how come no one ran out after the first shot, and began filming with a cellular?”
“Shootout at the airport? In broad daylight? And did she crouch behind some explosive barrel?” asked another.

Nevertheless, next Monday, season one, episode two of The Lady will broadcast on ITV in its stead.
The programme will transmit between 9pm and 10pm, similar to Betrayal, and the synopsis hints, “Jane meets dashing businessman Luis Castillo and the 2 start a relationship, but tensions soon erupt on a vacation in Greece, and she turns into more and more unstable.
“As Jane’s carefully constructed composure starts to fracture and puts her position with the duchess at risk, a lifeline appears in the shape of the charismatic Tommy Cressman.”
