Jake Paul and KSI is a fight people want to see – | Boxing News

Darren Till believes Jake Paul would overcome KSI if the pair fought in a boxing match. The two content creators have been embroiled in a heated rivalry for years.

They have been rivals since Kever SI, whose real identify is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, confronted him in the ring after Paul stopped YouTuber, AnEsonGib, while combating on the undercard of the WBO world middleweight title conflict between Demetrius Andrade and Luke Keeler, in 2020. Paul and KSI have been in talks to fight in early 2020, but the Coronavirus pandemic ended any hope of the fight happening then. Ever since the pair took up boxing, their fanbases have been speculating over who would emerge victorious if the pair confronted off. Former UFC star and now Misfits member, Till, has shared his ideas on who he believes would win.

In an exclusive interview with Mirror Fighting, the 32-12 months-outdated said: “I think Jake Paul would beat KSI, honestly. I like KSI, got a lot of time from him. Obviously, we’re in the same [division] he’s one of the promoters on Misfits and stuff like that. I can’t really say a bad word about him, because we’ve never crossed wires. Obviously, I’d call him out and stuff, but this is fighting and I think Jake Paul would beat KSI.”

Till was fast to reward Paul for his strategy to boxing, when many others in the candy science discover his presence in the game distasteful. Paul has been widely criticised for taking on opponents such as 58-12 months-outdated Mike Tyson and former UFC champions Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva.

But Till has constantly defended the American’s resolution to pursue a sport he loves, including: “He’s bringing a lot of vibes. It’s a big gimmick here but so what. Obviously, you’ve got your good and bad points about it. People say he’s making a joke and stuff.

“He’s clearly taking the game of boxing very significantly. He trains onerous I do not see a big drawback with it. I do not assume it adjustments issues massively, I just assume sometimes when he is throwing silly statements on the market like he can beat Canelo [Alvarez] and that.

“That’s where you’re like, ‘Oh come on…’ It’s rage bait; he knows what he’s doing. He’s a very smart man, Jake. We all need to remember how smart he actually is.”

Paul has constructed a exceptional boxing profession since making his skilled debut in January 2020, developing an spectacular 12-1 report with victories against fighters including Tyson, Woodley, Silva, Nate Diaz and Mike Perry. His latest triumph noticed him defeat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr by unanimous resolution in June.

KSI has equally solid a glowing profession within the squared circle. Boasting a 4-1-1 report (No Contest), the 32-12 months-outdated has secured victories against opponents such as Logan Paul, Swarmz and Luis Pineda.

His only defeat got here against Tommy Fury in October 2023, the same fighter who inflicted Paul’s solitary profession loss in February of that 12 months. This comes as Till prepares for his third boxing look this 12 months under the Misfits promotion, when he squares off against former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in Manchester on August 30.

Despite Rockhold making his skilled boxing debut, having briefly dabbled in naked-knuckle boxing in 2023, Till is not underestimating the menace posed by his adversary.

He said: “He’s always going to be dangerous. Even if you get a little bit older or whatever and you get a few losses or whatever. To be a Strikeforce champion and a UFC champion you’ve got to have something about you.

“So he is positively harmful, but I just I just assume what we’re both coming up to now, and what we’re both going through, just in phrases of just pure boxing, I just do not see where he is going to give me any issues.

“I don’t think he’s going to be able to keep up for the eight rounds and I just don’t think he’s going to handle my power I really don’t. That’s just me being honest, an honest analogy.”
