Jasmine Crockett Threw Tantrum Over Profile, | Political News
Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) tried to shut down a profile piece in The Atlantic after a reporter reached out to a number of of her Democrat colleagues and unintentionally uncovered her over-inflated sense of self-worth.
Reporter Elaine Godfrey defined that Crockett, upon studying different lawmakers had been contacted for remark on the controversial congresswoman, tried to shut down the piece altogether.
“As for her colleagues, four days before this story was published, Crockett called me to express frustration that I had reached out to so many House members without telling her first,” Godfrey wrote.
The Texas Democrat threatened the reporter, insisting she was “shutting down the profile and revoking all permissions.”
That’s not how that works. That’s not how any of this works.
Some attention-grabbing particulars from The Atlantic’s profile of Rep. Jasmine Crockett:
1. Her telephone’s lock screen is a photograph of herself
2. She thought she deserved to be the highest Dem on Oversight because she has the biggest social media following
3. She tried to shut down the profile… pic.twitter.com/CvRlFtRNkd— Amber Duke (@ambermarieduke) July 28, 2025

The level of competition appears to be that many members of her own occasion aren’t fond of her message supply. And Crockett did not need that to get out. Godfrey contacted up to 33 Democrats for what ought to have been a glowing profile piece, and they either did not reply or declined to remark outright. Ringing endorsements from high-ranking Dems have been few and far between.
Meanwhile, some senior employees members did remark, but only anonymously, by indicating that Crockett is considered as “undisciplined” and generally a “loose cannon” who “cause(s) headaches for other members.”
Yikes.
As for that over-inflated sense of self-worth? Much of the profile piece targeted on Crockett’s failed attempt to grow to be the highest Democrat on the House Oversight Committee.
During the race, she complained how some colleagues “won’t even send me a text back” about the Oversight job and seemed genuinely surprised that she wasn’t simply anointed to the position because she has a larger social media following than the other candidates.
“It’s like, there’s one clear person in the race that has the largest social-media following,” Crockett lamented.

The cringe just kept coming. And we reiterate that this was meant to be a glowing profile on how Jasmine is “a Democrat for the Trump period.”
Crockett, it seems, has a lock screen photo of herself. A headshot. Barack Obama believes that’s a little overly narcissistic. At one point, in front of the reporter, she sneered at food an aide had brought her from a fundraiser, complaining, “This looks like crap.”
Even better? Crockett claimed her entire foray into legal work began with alleged “racist” letters she received while at Rhodes College. A black female personal injury attorney represented her during a case involving those letters, a woman she describes as her “shero.”
Again, though, Crockett tried to keep the reporter from interviewing the source, saying she did not keep in mind her identify. Somebody she thought-about a “shero” and she did not know her identify?
Godfrey tried to observe the lawyer down anyway. She came upon the attorney could not recall if she had labored with Crockett on the case in query.
“She (shero) remembered the incident in broad terms but was not sure if she had worked on the case or with Crockett,” Godfrey wrote, including that “Rhodes College had no specific records of the incident.”
The Atlantic reporter also factors out that, opposite to Crockett’s beliefs, she shouldn’t be the political powerhouse she and the media would have you ever imagine.
“Crockett does not have supporters so much as she has admirers,” she wrote.
That was borne out when she completed useless final in a vote to suggest the highest Democrat on the House Oversight Committee to their caucus. Crockett sheepishly withdrew her identify from the race, shocked that her social media following did not carry the day.
