TV star Jeremy Clarkson admits he is one factor about his Clarkson’s Farm co-star Kaleb Cooper leaves him “exasperated”.

Kaleb has been serving to out on Jeremy’s Diddly Squat Farm since 2021 as the previous Top Gear host tries to get to grips with what it takes to run a working farm.

Jeremy, 65, says he says his farm supervisor most days but revealed “it’s often difficult to get a conversation going” as Kaleb’s common information apparently leaves a lot to be desired.

The presenter said that while his farming information is second to none, he finds it “exasperating” that Kaleb has never heard of iconic rock band Fleetwood.

He’s also never heard of actor Robert De Niro or composer Mozart while he apparently has never watched a James Bond movie.

Writing in his new e book Diddly Squat: The Farmer’s Dog, he said: “I see Kaleb Cooper, my farm manager, most days but it’s often difficult to get a conversation going.

“It’s not that he’s thick. He actually is not. You can ask him how a lot diesel you may need in a 150-horsepower tractor to clear 40 bales from a nine-acre subject and he’ll know in an immediate.

“But he’s never heard of Robert De Niro. And he’s never watched a James Bond film.

“It transpired last week that’s he’s never heard of Fleetwood Mac, and I discovered this exasperating. He tried to argue that they have been before his time. ‘Yes, but so was Mozart,’ I thundered. ‘Who’s Mozart?’ he replied.”

Kaleb became the breakout star of hit Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm with audiences loving the camaraderie between Jeremy and his younger employee.

On the show Kaleb mainly advises his boss on the technical details of using equipment while helping out with numerous tasks around the farm.

Kaleb has gone on to release a number of books while he took time away from the show during the fourth series to tour the country and present his one-man show, The World According to Kaleb. He was temporarily replaced by Harriet Cowan.

Despite their close bond it appears Jeremy and Kaleb couldn’t be more different in many ways.

It seems the former Grand Tour host was less than impressed with Kaleb’s general knowledge, suggesting that he’s only aware of the war in Ukraine due to its impact on the price of fertiliser.

Jeremy continued: “Naturally, he has little curiosity in world affairs. He is conscious of the battle in Ukraine but only because it affected the price of fertiliser. Gaza, though? He will not have heard of that, and I believe he’d wrestle to title both candidates in the approaching elections.

“He’s not even that clued up on events closer to home. Let’s not forget that when he met Rishi Sunak, he thought he was the president. And that his name was Ricky.”
