Jesse Watters humiliated as co-host says he has a | TV Shows

Jesse Watters once more expressed his dislike of California Governor Gavin Newsom, and his fellow cohosts called him out on it.

The 48-year-old Fox News reporter was on The Five on Thursday, July 24. Jesse went on a rant about Gavin Newsom, which he is thought to do. He often targets the Democratic governor, attacking him both personally and politically. Before Jesse’s tirade about Newsom, the panel was speaking about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz not looking for reelection to a third time period following fraud scandals and allegations in the state. They had a query about whether or not Newsom is next.

Trump had accused California of having fraud and declared an investigation into said fraud in January 2026. Newsom had dismissed the president’s claims, calling them politically motivated. Newsom himself has not been implicated in fraud, but his former chief of employees and longtime California political marketing consultant, Dana Williamson, pleaded guilty in May to conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud involving Xavier Becerra’s marketing campaign funds. Jesse on The Five went on to spew hatred toward Newsom, equally to what he did in March, which had viewers branding him a “disgusting misogynist.“

“It’s cause he’s squeamish and he’s wishy-washy. Very effeminate, and he doesn’t care that we are losing the money,” Jesse said.

Greg Gutfield chimed in, “Didn’t you say he was going to be the [Democratic presidential] nominee?”

“If betting markets still have him as the favorite, it doesn’t mean I can’t punch him,” Jesse added.

Shannon Beam, equally to Greg, also introduced up Jesse having affectionate emotions toward Newsom. The attorney said, “I feel like you told us at one point, though, that you had a crush on him or something.”

Jesse appeared stunned and incredulously said, “Crush?”

“When his book came out,” Shannon tried to clarify before Jesse interrupted her.

“I said he was alright. I met him once, and he was cool but I mean, he’s an idiot,” Jesse said.

Newsom and Jesse have a contentious past with each other. Things intensified between the 2 in June 2025, when the Californian politician filed a $787 million defamation lawsuit against Fox News and Jesse. Newsom alleged that Jesse falsely claimed that he had lied about cellphone conversations with Trump.

Jesse issued a retraction and an on-air apology in July 2025. Following that, Fox News filed to have the lawsuit dismissed, but a decide denied the movement and moved the case ahead. The case stays ongoing.
