Host Jesse Watters boasted about President Donald Trump’s handling of the Iranian blockade, which irked his conservative fanbase.

On July 14, during the Fox News broadcast of Jesse Watters Primetime, the conservative host claimed President Trump, 80, had the Middle Eastern nation in a bodily grappling method, where the arm is tightly wrapped around an opponent’s neck. On the same day, Trump imposed a naval blockade on all Iranian ports amid his standoff over the Strait of Hormuz, the first export route for oil.

While pointing at black and white footage of the U.S. strikes at potential Iranian targets, Watters said, “Fox News alert! Trump has Iran in a chokehold for the first time in the war.

“We’re launching air strikes at the same time as the blockade!”

National News Correspondent Kevin Corke added, “And that means the Strait of Hormuz is once again under control of the U.S., according to the president. He also said that the memorandum of understanding was a check. And it was a check the Iranians failed.”

Viewers took to social media to slam Watters’ comment, arguing the blockade was not stopping the war against Iran and only added more tension.

One person added, “You’re an idiot! That’s why I finished watching you! We are shedding this battle! And Trump is destroying the economic system!”

Another person added, “You sound like a damaged report! Every day, we’re ‘successful and successful,’ but yet we ain’t doing s–t to change something!”

A third wrote, “This can be the same battle you’ve been telling us that we received at least half a dozen occasions now? And the Strait isn’t under U.S. control!”

Despite the criticism, Watters had a supporter who shared, “The blockade and an air battle will work for the first time in historical past!”

On July 13, President Trump wrote on Truth Social, “The Hormuz Strait is OPEN, and will stay OPEN, with or without Iran.

“We are reinstating the THE IRANIAN BLOCKADE, so named because it is only stopping Iran’s ships or customers from entering or leaving. All other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait.

“The U.S.A. shall be, from this level ahead, recognized as ‘THE GUARDIAN OF THE HORMUZ STRAIT,’ but as such, and as a matter of FAIRNESS, shall be reimbursed, at the speed of 20% on all cargo shipped, for any and all prices vital to do the job of offering security and security to this very unstable part of the World,” he completed.
