John Daly has established a recent tradition for Masters week, and this yr you will not spot him at Hooters.

The two-time major winner was well-known for spending time at the Hooters location on Washington Road in Augusta, Georgia, during the Masters, where he would signal autographs and hawk merchandise. Daly even had his own liquor model stocked by the institution.

However, Daly has discovered a new home base for Masters week – Top Dawg Tavern – after the Augusta Hooters shut its doorways as half of a company chapter affecting more than 30 company-owned websites throughout the United States.

Top Dawg Tavern sits instantly across Washington Road from the previous Hooters spot, roughly a mile from the Magnolia Lane entrance to Augusta National.

According to Golf. com’s Michael Bamberger, Daly reportedly raked in $780,000 in gross sales during the 2024 Masters while figuring out of the Hooters restaurant.

Despite his disappointing efficiency at the Masters in 1993, Daly continues to have good cause to help these local institutions. Daly has weighed in on the LIV Golf controversy following Rory McIlroy’s feedback about Brooks Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour.

Koepka selected to depart LIV Golf citing “family reasons” and McIlroy acknowledged he would gladly welcome any golfer back to the PGA Tour before his opening TGL match of season two. “I mean, I think they need to be willing to come back first, which is a big thing,” the Northern Irishman shared with ESPN host Scott Van Pelt.

“Obviously one pretty prominent player has decided that that’s maybe what he wants to do. But yeah, I mean, geez, it’d be great to get some of them in here and play in TGL as well.”

John Daly, a two-time major champion who now competes on the PGA Tour Champions following an in depth PGA Tour profession, expressed his disappointment at not seeing all top-tier gamers competing together.

“I don’t know. I don’t even know if it’s really a rivalry. I just wish both parties would get together and solve it and be one, somehow or another,” Daly voiced during an interview with HardRock Bet.

“I think anytime you’re doing more world golf, I think it makes golf bigger. Now, with our World Golf Championships that started on the PGA Tour, it does go a little worldwide. But with LIV, if we can combine it somehow, I don’t know the answer to that-that’s up to those guys.

“But I hate not seeing the best gamers in the world on a stage of one area, whether or not it’s a LIV event or a tour event or a major. You see them in the majors, at least the fellows that play LIV can play the majors.

“I don’t know, it’s just separated some really great golfers, and I just wish everybody could get along and get together where everybody’s competing with and against each other, because I think that’s what golf really needs-is seeing the best against the best every week.”
