Jordan Spieth erupted in frustration after a cellular phone rang during his backswing in the ultimate spherical of the Valspar Championship.

Spieth has shown enchancment this season — he hasn’t positioned worse than T32 in his last 5 tournaments — though he believes his scores have not matched the standard of his play.

Three birdies in his opening 5 holes positioned Spieth with a slim alternative to set the clubhouse goal and problem the leaders, but a dropped shot at the eighth was accompanied by a disappointing back 9, squandering promising alternatives to gain extra ground.

He didn’t communicate to reporters on Saturday or Sunday, but on Friday, he said: “I think, in general, it’s all-encompassing. I don’t think the stats show, I feel like the way I’m playing is I’m driving it, I think I’m driving it in the top 20, I think I’m striking it in the top 20, I think my short game’s in the top 20, I think my putting’s in the top 20.

“I’ve made some unhealthy choices or hit some fallacious tee photographs at the fallacious time or missed contact that have value me from having a probability to win three or 4 instances and ending where I end.

“So it’s a good place to be. Those are normally easier things to solve; they’re just more reps, and I’m in a confident place.

“So I’m extraordinarily pissed off when I do not get the most out of my spherical because I’m enjoying better than I’m scoring on a week like this week. That’s the irritating half. But I’d a lot somewhat be on that aspect of it than wherever else.”
