Justice Department Now Suing Four States Over | Political News
The Trump administration’s efforts to clean up voting rolls continue apace, but a lot of states – let’s be sincere, Democrat-controlled states – aren’t cooperating. In the latest episode of “Let’s Keep Our Elections Questionable,” 4 states are refusing to provide the Justice Department with detailed voting data, as the DOJ seeks to consider and make sure the accuracy of voter rolls and the veracity of our elections.
The DOJ is now suing those states.
The U.S. Justice Department is suing 4 more states as half of its effort to gather detailed voting data and other election info across the nation.
The division filed federal lawsuits against Colorado, Hawaii, Massachusetts and Nevada on Thursday for “failing to produce statewide voter registration lists upon request.” So far, 18 states have been sued, along with Fulton County in Georgia, which was sued for information associated to the 2020 election.
All blue states, we’d observe. What a shock.
The Trump administration has characterised the lawsuits as half of an effort to make sure the security of elections, and the Justice Department says the states are violating federal law by refusing to present the voter lists and info about ineligible voters. The lawsuits have raised considerations among some Democratic officers and others who query precisely how the data can be used, and whether or not the division will comply with privateness legal guidelines to defend the knowledge. Some of the data sought contains names, dates of delivery, residential addresses, driver’s license numbers and partial Social Security numbers.
“States have the statutory duty to preserve and protect their constituents from vote dilution,” Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Ok. Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said in a press release. “At this Department of Justice, we will not permit states to jeopardize the integrity and effectiveness of elections by refusing to abide by our federal elections laws. If states will not fulfill their duty to protect the integrity of the ballot, we will.”
It’s always thus; blue jurisdictions defy any makes an attempt at making certain election integrity, from requiring ID to solid a poll to verifying the accuracy and integrity of voter rolls.

These 4 states are only the latest on a checklist of states dealing with legal challenges from the DOJ:
An Associated Press tally discovered that the Justice Department has requested at least 26 states for voter registration rolls in current months, and in many circumstances requested states for info on how they preserve their voter rolls. Other states being sued by the Justice Department embrace California, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.
It is, maybe, belaboring the plain to observe that if we can’t rely on the integrity of our elections, we no longer have a republic. The Trump administration’s DOJ is making an attempt to shore up election integrity. These Democrat-run states try to stop that effort. If that would not clarify a basic distinction between the 2 events, I do not know what may.
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon is not standing for any nonsense from these states and the legacy media that helps them:

Good elections should not be that exhausting. Here in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, when it is election day, we show up at our group middle, show our ID, signal the voter roll, and then mark and solid our paper poll. These ballots do not go into machines (although Alaska state elections still use machines to tally votes); they’re counted by people. That’s still the most dependable approach to get this executed. That’s what we must be doing in every single place. And that voter roll must be evaluated and corrected as crucial, before every election. That’s election integrity, and without it, we’ve no republic – just, properly, a system that places somebody like Joe Biden in workplace.
