Rose’s triumph in Memphis provides yet another spotlight to his already stellar profession. The 45-year-old boasts over 10 PGA and Euro Tour victories, has clinched a Major title, secured an Olympic gold medal, gained the FedEx Cup, and has reached the head of world No. 1, among other achievements.
The British golfer also got here tantalizingly close to securing the coveted inexperienced jacket, ending just behind Rory McIlroy in April.
Following his latest victory at the expense of Spaun, Rose shared his ideas during the extreme showdown with the American contender. “Yeah, that was an amazing, I guess, last 90 minutes, really,” Rose mirrored on the playoff duel.
“I mean, seemed to be the way it got this week. When I got myself a few backs, something good would happen. Never stopped believing. The six-iron I hit into 14, it was a clutch shot, you know, back right pin, had to hit the perfect golf shot in there.

“So, you know, I hit a couple of good putts in regulation and in the first playoff hole as well. Obviously, J.J. dropped a bomb on me. I topped him. It was, you know, it was a lot of fun today.
“That’s why I follow, that’s why I play. I’ve been saying for some time now, clearly, you realize, Augusta, when I carry my best, I do know I’m good enough to play and to compete and to now win against the best gamers in the world. So very gratifying day for me and a lot of exhausting work form of coming to fruition.”
