Justin Thomas has contributed $1 million to Alabama’s males’s and ladies’s golf applications, with the funds earmarked for facility enhancements. Since departing Alabama, Thomas has emerged as one of golf’s elite gamers, capturing two major titles and 16 PGA Tour victories, while persistently representing the U.S. in Ryder Cup competitors.
During his collegiate profession, Thomas performed a pivotal function in serving to the Crimson Tide secure the 2013 NCAA championship.
“Alabama Athletics is incredibly grateful to Justin for his commitment and support of the Crimson Reserve and our golf programs,” said Alabama Director of Athletics Greg Byrne.

“It’s hard to put into words the love and feelings I have for The University of Alabama,” said Thomas. “I was so lucky to be able to spend two incredible years playing under Coach Seawell. He and his wife, Stephanie, were, and still are, like family to me. This dream of making the Crimson Reserve couldn’t be done without Coach Seawell and Coach Potter and what they’ve done with the programs. I’m honored to have a very small part in it.”
Thomas’ mentor at the University of Alabama, Jay Seawell, boasts an spectacular assortment of honors, including SEC Coach of the Year recognition in 2008, 2012, 2013, and 2014.
“I am so proud of Justin and thankful for what he’s meant to our program and The University of Alabama,” said Alabama males’s golf coach Seawell.
“He is a big part of the legacy of Alabama golf. It means so much that he would be willing to give back to the golf programs. His impact while at the Capstone and his success on the PGA Tour continues to inspire our current players and his gift will impact young men and women who choose Alabama golf for years to come.
“This present displays the kindness and character of Justin and his household and their dedication to the future success of Alabama golf. We couldn’t be more grateful for his generosity and love of The University of Alabama.”
Alabama women’s golf coach Mic Potter also expressed his gratitude for the generous donation.
“Alabama ladies’s golf is extraordinarily grateful for Justin’s dedication to not only the Crimson Reserve, but also his investment in our student-athletes,” said Potter. “Justin Thomas’ influence on Alabama Golf goes past the course, and we’re grateful that he’s giving back to the game that he excelled in during his time at Alabama and at the moment in the PGA.”
