Katy Perry’s tour passes 1 million tickets and $80 | Music News

Popstar Katy Perry has silenced hypothesis about poor ticket gross sales by revealing surprising figures from her ongoing Lifetimes world tour.

The pop celebrity has reportedly already offered 1.1 million tickets and grossed more than $80 million in gross sales, according to numbers launched by her management and obtained by Billboard.

The whole displays earnings from exhibits across the U.S., Canada, and Australia, with more legs of the global trek still to come. Perry kicked off the North American leg in Houston on May 7 before wrapping in Miami on Aug. 23, hitting more than 20 cities including Chicago, San Francisco, New York, and Atlanta.

In Canada, she drew crowds in Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Quebec City, and Montreal, where she carried out in entrance of Justin Trudeau. From there, Perry moved on to Australia for 13 sold-out dates between June 9 and June 30.

The singer has leaned into a daring, theatrical theme for The Lifetimes Tour, centered on the idea of Perry “saving the world” while surrounded by a kaleidoscope of butterflies, each representing a different period of her profession. The manufacturing is set to span 91 exhibits across Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America.

Next up, the “Firework” hitmaker is making ready for her first-ever Latin American stadium exhibits before taking the spectacle to Europe in October. That stretch will embrace stops in Glasgow, Manchester, and London, along with exhibits in Belgium, Germany, Denmark, France, Spain, Italy, and past.

Demand has been so high that Perry has already added a number of additional dates, including two in Paris, 5 in Australia, and one in China. Her six China exhibits, with two in Hangzhou, three in Shanghai, and one in Haikou, offered out in just one minute after going on sale, her staff confirmed.

With months of exhibits still forward and overwhelming demand across continents, The Lifetimes Tour is shaping up to be one of the most profitable and expansive runs of Perry’s profession.

The update comes months after claims she was experiencing “disappointing” ticket gross sales in choose cities. In March, The Sun reported that “expectations were high and she is disappointed by the lack of interest in some countries and venues.”

(*1*) an insider told the outlet.

The source added that Perry was “excited and inspired” by Swift after attending The Eras Tour.

“She knows she can count on her to give her some positive feedback,” the California Gurls hitmaker famous. “Taylor wants Katy to succeed and have a great tour, and enjoy her time while on the road, and Katy appreciates that.”

Perry also confronted backlash for working with music producer Dr. Luke on her latest album, 143. Dr. Luke, who collaborated with Perry on hits like “I Kissed a Girl,” “California Gurls,” and “Roar,” settled a defamation lawsuit with singer Kesha in 2023, after she claimed in a 2014 lawsuit that he had inappropriately and bodily abused her.

Perry’s seventh studio release finally failed to meet industrial expectations, turning into her lowest-scoring album on Metacritic since 2011 when it dropped in September.
