Keegan had an edge to him. He had a little edge this week. And enjoying with a little anger and a chip on your shoulder might be not the best method for a workforce to go ahead.”

While Bradley and Team USA approached this year’s Ryder Cup seeking vengeance in Chamblee’s view, the 63-year-old contended that Donald and the Europeans tackled the competition with greater meaning and dignity.

“Europe had a sense of goal,” he explained. “One that they weren’t taking the money, they had been going to play for pleasure and their nation.

“And two, as Donald’s remarks said, we may not be your team but at week’s end we hope you have given you something to respect and perhaps something to pull for.

“Suggesting that they’re going to go and play their hearts out for New York and give them one thing they might respect.”
