Kid Rock music fest organizers beg for grace over | Music News
Organizers for Kid Rock’s ‘Rock the Country Tour’ are begging for grace after attendees slammed the MAGA music competition over muddy situations and excessive delays on day one.
The tour, which is a 7-show small-town competition celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary, kicked off on Friday, May 1, in Bellville, Texas. Organizers pleaded for leniency as festivalgoers slammed the tour for having ‘the worst event management’ amid calls for refunds. Kid Rock is predicted to close out the show on Saturday, May 1.
On May 2, attendees took to social media with their grievances about the competition’s organizers, with a number of demanding refunds over the delays.
One festivalgoer requested others to give organizers “some grace,” writing, “I understand today didn’t go as planned and a lot of people are angry, yall have every right to be upset. I was irritated too, but theres nothing we can do. Lets put that energy elsewhere, just have fun and worry about the rest later!”
Despite the event being formally designated ‘rain or shine,’ the gates didn’t open until 6:30 PM after being postponed a number of instances. The Austin County Fairgrounds had initially been scheduled to open at 1:30 PM, so attendees waited outdoors for over 5 hours to get inside.
Festivalgoers demanded refunds after a number of said they have been still ready in line to get in during the performances of Chase Matthew, Ella Langley, and Jason Aldean. One individual who attended the opening night time of the competition described the grounds as “wet and nasty.”
Taking to social media, one attendee wrote, “Yall have some of the worst event management and organization ever,” as another added, “Waited outside in rain for hours didn’t see any performers. Terrible job.”
Another attendee fumed, “I’ll never go to anything in Belleville again. Whoever organized this event needs to be fired. Lack of common sense. Rain or shine!!! No updates, rained all day weather never changed, yall were not reposted. Give the people back their money.”
Others chimed in with feedback like, “It’s a rain or shine event so no idea why you didn’t open the gates earlier,” and “Worst festival ever.” One merely wrote, “What a joke.’
One local organizer who was fielding the complaints pleaded, “I’m just one individual on a very big group that solutions questions and escalates issues.”
The backlash continued on Sunday, May 2, after the day’s lineup was shared by the festival on social media, which did not feature one act – Aaron Lewis and the Stateliners.
“The total cause I purchased tickets was to see Aaron Lewis. Guess that was a waste of money…” one person wrote. “What occurred to Aaron Lewis?? Fml. You people suck a–!” another echoed as followers speculated that the artist might have quietly pulled out of the show.
