King Charles has shared a uncommon health update as he continues to endure treatment following his cancer diagnosis.
The monarch, 76, met with fellow cancer sufferers at the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in England during a royal engagement Wednesday, where he spoke candidly of his battle.
As Charles, who turns 77 in November, formally opened the new medical middle, he spent time talking with workers, sufferers, and volunteers — many of whom are intimately acquainted with the profound toll cancer takes on people and their family members.

One cancer affected person, Matthew Shinda, had requested the king how he was feeling more than a 12 months and a half since his diagnosis got here to mild.
“I’m not too bad,” Charles responded, per Hello! magazine.
Shinda, 73, who is present process treatment for prostate cancer, divulged his expertise with the sickness to the monarch.
“I’m very sorry about that, it’s so frustrating,” Charles said, per the BBC. “Half the problem is detecting it, isn’t it, in time.”
“The great thing, I think, is they’re getting better and better at dealing with these things. The trouble is there’s always hope down the road,” he added.

Elsewhere, Charles made a number of remarks about the physical struggles he confronted following his diagnosis during a dialog with fellow affected person Jacqueline Page.
After Page, 85, had told the king that she was “wearing out,” the king lightened the temper by placing his good humor on show.
“I know, this is the terrible thing, as I am discovering already. The bits don’t work so well when you get past 70,” he quipped.
The last time Charles spoke about his diagnosis was in July during a candid chat with a cancer survivor.

“I asked him how he was, and he said he was feeling a lot better now and that it was ‘just one of those things,’” local Lee Harman told PA.
The dialog happened in Newmarket, England where the king was visited with his spouse, Queen Camilla.

And in April, the king thanked “all those who support cancer patients and their loved ones” in a touching personal message.
The monarch wrote a letter posted on the royal household’s web site, in which he confessed that being “among” the “statistics” of those identified with cancer has “reinforced” his view that “the darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion.”

Charles has largely opted to stay tight-lipped about his health battle, and has determined not to disclose the kind of cancer he’s battling.
Still, the king hasn’t missed a beat when it comes to his royal duties — though a health scare in March proved to be touch-and-go.
The cancer-stricken monarch was hospitalized on March 27 for short-term unintended effects from his weekly treatment session.
And while Buckingham Palace called the health scare a mere “bump in the road,” the ordeal still prompted Charles to cancel all of his royal engagements slated for the next days.

News of the king’s cancer diagnosis got here to mild after he underwent a process for an enlarged prostate in January 2024. There, medical doctors found “a separate issue of concern” that requires treatment.
The palace later clarified that the cancer was not prostate cancer.
