Lafayette Parish officials identify 3 victims in plane crash | Latest Travel News


The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office has recognized the victims of Tuesday morning’s plane crash.

According to LPSO, just after 11 a.m., deputies responded to a (*3*)report of a small plane dropping altitude, circling, and then crashing into an open subject.

When officers arrived, they confirmed that the plane, recognized as a Beechcraft Baron—a twin-engine airplane—had crashed. All three occupants aboard had been pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following notification of the household, the deceased has been recognized as:

  • Bruce Verduyn, 58, of The Woodlands, Texas

  • Lydia Laws, 46, of Spring, Texas

  • Justin Ramsey, 42, of The Woodlands, Texas

LPSO said they’re at present securing the crash website and helping the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) investigators, who will lead the investigation.
