“But the reality is, the law would not enable me to say, ‘the Congress hasn’t funded the federal government, I can just go discover money and pay air visitors controllers,'” Duffy continued. “That’s not the best way our Constitution works and our authorities works.”

Trump threatens more chaos

President Trump stoked the flames further by threatening to dock the pay of air traffic controllers who fail to report for duty. “All Air Traffic Controllers must get back to work, NOW!!!,” Trump declared on Truth Social.

“You will have a negative mark, at least in my mind, against your record,” he said. “If you want to leave service in the near future, please do not hesitate to do so, with NO payment or severance of any kind!”.
