Lakers likely to select a big man or wing in first

The Lakers do have three tradable first-round picks — 2026, 2031 and 2033 — but the latter two can’t be moved until after the draft.

Lakers star LeBron James is an unrestricted free agent and is trying for a deal from the Lakers, while Austin Reaves is predicted to choose out of his $14.8-million deal so he can signal a contract with them for up to 5 years and about $241 million.

Still, the Lakers have to proceed with the draft to discover a participant.

Swain (6-7) and Evans (6-6) are the sort of athletic wings the Lakers might use, but both is perhaps chosen before the Lakers make their choose.

The 6-9 Quaintance might slide to the Lakers because of health issues. He performed in only 4 video games last season at Kentucky because the staff was being cautious following knee surgical procedure after he tore an anterior cruciate ligament when he performed at Arizona State.

Scouts still view him as cellular, athletic and younger enough — he turns 19 next month — to develop.
