Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg had visited President Trump last week to talk about the menace of digital service taxes, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday, citing people acquainted with the non-public assembly.
Days after the assembly, Trump threatened nations that have digital taxes with “subsequent additional tariffs” on their items if those nations don’t take away such laws.
Meta and the White House didn’t immediately reply to GWN’ request for remark on the report.

Trump’s administration is contemplating imposing sanctions on the EU or member state officers accountable for the Digital Services Act, over complaints that it censors Americans and imposes prices on US tech corporations, GWN reported on Monday.
Many nations, significantly in Europe, have levied taxes on the gross sales income of digital service suppliers, including Alphabet’s Google, Meta, Apple and Amazon.
The issue has been a longstanding commerce irritant for a number of US administrations.
