A light-weight bout between former champion Charles Oliveira (35-11, 1 NC) and Top 10-ranked contender Mateusz Gamrot (25-3, 1 NC) headlines Saturday’s UFC Fight Night event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Oliveira was initially slated to take on No. 10 ranked Rafael Fiziev, but a knee injury pressured Fiziev out of the struggle. Gamrot, ranked No. 8 in the weight class, stepped in on short discover.

Gamrot wasn’t sure if Oliveira would settle for the matchup but in the end he bought the call. Stylistically, Gamrot is excited to take a look at his grappling against the person who holds the document for most submission wins in UFC historical past.
“I am ready to scramble with him,” Gamrot said. “I expect the best version of Charles Oliveira. I know this is going to be a hard fight for me… It doesn’t matter how but I see my hand is going to be up. I am really ready for this fight physically and mentally. This is going to be a great show for sure.”
