Prince Harry and spouse Meghan Markle surrendered their HRH titles after leaving their jobs as working royals behind and transferring to Montecito, California – but Meghan has since used her title in communication, inflicting fury among those who consider she broke a promise to the Queen. She was accused of “dancing on her grave” when she despatched a cosmetics entrepreneur pal, Jamie Kern Lima, a present hamper – reportedly as a thanks for an look on her podcast.

The offending hamper had come with a card signed “with the compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex” – and when evidence of it emerged publicly, sparks flew. Sources have claimed that the title was for “private use” while giving a present to a pal, which was never supposed to be seen publicly – and therefore that she hadn’t violated any settlement with the Queen. However, many royalists had been livid to uncover that Meghan was still speaking utilizing the title, even just with family members, referencing her 2020 assertion that “the Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family”.

Former Labour MP Stephen Pound spoke out during a GB News debate to accuse Meghan of capitalising on her royal hyperlinks after having “trashed” those who gave them to her.

He exclaimed: “The real problem here is she’s dancing on the grave of the British monarchy, and she’s trying to flog the video at the same time.”

Referencing how Meghan had beforehand made accusations about an unnamed member of the royal household before leaving altogether, he argued that she “can’t on the one hand trash the [royals]”, but “squeeze every dollar out of it” on the opposite.

“She’s clinging like a leech to the flesh of the family’s fame,” he stormed.

He added: “She’s also selling this ridiculous, overpriced $50 jar of honey and God knows what – I’m sorry, it’s outrageous!”

Broadcaster Mike Parry agreed, cautioning: “The late great departed Queen made it clear she mustn’t use that title 100 per cent.

“What you’ve got acquired right here is a 50-50 break up where Meghan Markle seeks to make huge quantities of money by accompanying her husband, Prince Harry in completely pulling the Royal Family to items, criticising them at every flip, making horrible allegations about them and doing every little thing to strive and destroy the Royal Family, while on the opposite half of the equation, she is determined to stay a member of that illustrious household because it is essentially the most well-known in the world, and it is the only factor now which might make her recognisable around the globe.”

However, GB News host Bev Turner defended that it may have been a blunder caused by a “not very clever assistant”, who no longer realised Meghan couldn’t use the title.

She also identified that there is no clear evidence of when the picture of the hamper was taken, suggesting it may have been despatched before the Queen’s death.
