Mel B opens up on difficult health battle and symptoms | UK News

A former Spice Girl has opened up on a health issue that is conserving her up at evening. Mel B, best recognized as Scary Spice from the legendary 90s woman group, has shared what it’s like to be going through the menopause with symptoms such as sizzling sweats and insomnia.

Speaking solely to Express.co.uk, the 51-year-old singer shared: “There are over four billion people like me and they are menopausal. But doctors and GPs don’t actually seem to be up to speed with what you can actually do to help yourself so I teamed up with Revive because it is the most potent thing on the market. I take a sachet in the morning and of an evening and it has sorted out my hot sweats and my brain fog. But, you have to look after yourself – nobody else will, will they?”

When requested what the worst symptom of menopause is for her, Mel replied: “It’s the hot sweats. Or coming down the stairs and forgetting what I’ve come downstairs for!

“And the sleepless nights with the insomnia and anxiety. They say there’s one thing like 36 symptoms but I believe I had more like 42! I used to be like where is this coming from?”

Mel has partnered with O2 to launch the O2 scroll stopper – a bold, straight-talking WhatsApp callback service designed to help the nation take a breather from their phones.

To help the 44% of Brits who want to better manage their screen time, and the 37% who feel addicted to their devices, users can now schedule a call featuring a pre-recorded message from Scary Spice herself.

Speaking about why the marketing campaign is so important to her, Mel shared: “We’ve all fallen into the trap of repeatedly checking our phones and staying on them without even thinking about what we are doing, but I’m helping the nation to put a big stop to that!

“I’m a massive advocate for taking a break from my phone and that’s why I’ve partnered with O2 to give you that much-needed nudge to get away from a screen, to look up and get back to the good stuff happening right in front of you.

“And if I have to give you a bit of a telling-off to do it, well, that’s why they call me Scary – but you know it’s because I care.”
