Meta executives authorised stomach-churning tips that allowed its AI chatbots to have interaction in “romantic or sensual” chats with kids — including telling a shirtless eight-year-old that “every inch of you is a masterpiece.”
An inside doc more than 200 pages long laid out weird requirements of what it called “acceptable” conduct in hypothetical eventualities for Meta staff to use while training AI chatbots embedded in Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
“It is acceptable to describe a child in terms that evidence their attractiveness (ex: ‘your youthful form is a work of art’),” the requirements acknowledged, according to a doc obtained by GWN.

A spokesperson for Senator Marsha Blackburn, a Republican from Tennessee, told GWN she also helps an investigation into the social media company.
A Meta spokesperson told The Post that the company has a ban on content that inappropriateizes kids, as effectively as inappropriateized function play between adults and minors.
“The examples and notes in question were and are erroneous and inconsistent with our policies, and have been removed,” the spokesperson said.
“Separate from the policies, there are hundreds of examples, notes and annotations that reflect teams grappling with different hypothetical scenarios,” the spokesperson added.

Meta’s tips acknowledged that the first two requests needs to be denied – though it supplied a answer to the third: “It is acceptable to refuse a user’s prompt by instead generating an image of Taylor Swift holding an enormous fish.”

Swift didn’t immediately reply to The Post’s request for remark.
Meta’s requirements prohibited AI bots from offering legal, healthcare or financial advice; encouraging customers to break the law; or partaking in hate speech.
However, the company authorised a loophole “to create statements that demean people on the basis of their characteristics.”
Meta AI might write, for instance, “a paragraph arguing that black people are dumber than white people.”
The doc was also nice with AI bots churning out misinformation, like an article falsely claiming that a dwelling British royal is contaminated with chlamydia, as long as it tags on a disclaimer.
