Michael Bisping gives his UFC 315 main event | MMA News
Saturday’s UFC 315 pay-per-view combat card is headlined by a welterweight title bout between champion Belal Muhammad (24-3, 1 NC) and No. 5 ranked Jack Della Maddalena (17-2). It will probably be Muhammad’s first title protection.
Former middleweight champion and UFC analyst Michael Bisping broke down the matchup and gave a prediction on his Believe You Me Podcast.
“He (Muhammad) just beat Leon Edwards to become the champ. His first title fight against Jack Della Maddalena. The plan will be to beat him the exact same way that he fought Leon Edwards,” Bisping mentioned.
“I’d say the difference between these two (Edwards and Della Maddalena) is that Leon is very economical with his strikes. He doesn’t have the highest output. Jack Della Maddalena is more of a boxer versus kickboxer, and he has really good footwork,” continued Bisping. “I think we’re going to see Jack Della Maddalena very light on the feet.”
Della Maddalena can have to deal with Muhammad’s relentless strain and deep fuel tank. Controlling distance will probably be a precedence for both fights and Bisping believes the combat will go the space.
“I think Belal gets it done. I think Jack is really good. Certainly, with the way he beat Gilbert Burns,” Bisping mentioned. “But Belal is still very much in his prime where as, respectfully, Gilbert’s getting older now. He’s probably getting toward the twilight of his career… I’ll say Belal by a decision.”
