Microsoft engineer quits because Israeli military is shopper: report | Latest Tech News
A longtime Microsoft engineer is resigning over claims the company is offering cloud-computing companies to the Israeli military — the latest twist in months of tensions at the software program giant over its function in the conflict in Gaza, according to a new report.
Scott Sutfin-Glowski, a principal software program engineer, informed coworkers in a letter Thursday that he was quitting after 13 years at Microsoft at the end of the week, CNBC reported.
Sutfin-Glowski cited a February report that Israel’s military had at least 635 energetic Microsoft subscriptions.

The outgoing engineer claimed that most of the subscriptions are still energetic.
“I can no longer accept enabling what may be the worst atrocities of our time,” Sutfin-Glowski reportedly acknowledged.
Internal turmoil has been roiling Microsoft as many of its left-leaning staff push back on the company’s work with Israel.
The protests have been spearheaded by a group calling itself “No Azure For Apartheid” — a reference to Microsoft’s cloud division.
Sutfin-Glowski claimed that Microsoft blocked access to inner communications where staff may have voiced their considerations.
The resignation got here as a new ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas started to come into pressure in Gaza.
“Today, the ceasefire in Gaza finally takes effect after two years of genocide, but the atrocities, human rights abuses, war crimes, apartheid, and occupation continue,” Sutfin-Glowski wrote.
Microsoft didn’t immediately return The Post’s request for remark.

A bunch called “No Azure For Apartheid” has led the Microsoft protests.
In August, the company revealed it had fired two staffers who stormed the workplace of Microsoft President Brad Smith to demand the end of companies to Israel.
Days earlier, dozens of anti-Israel Microsoft staff, many of whom wore masks and keffiyehs, set up tents in what they called a “liberated zone” on Microsoft’s Redmond, Wash., campus.
The protesters renamed the world “Martyred Palestinian Children’s Plaza” before police requested them to go away.

Microsoft also reportedly requested for the FBI’s help monitoring the worker protests concentrating on Smith and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
