Miss Universe government Nawat Itsaragrisil has been dismissed from this 12 months’s pageant following his stunning confrontation with Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch earlier this week.

“I have restricted Nawat’s participation in the events that are part of the 74th Miss Universe competition, limiting it as much as possible or eliminating it entirely,” Rocha said in Spanish on the group’s official Instagram web page.

Rocha went on to specific his “great indignation towards Nawat” for the “public aggression he committed against Fátima Bosch” whom Itsaragrisil “humiliated, insulted, and showed lack of respect to.”

“I will not allow the values of respect and dignity of women to be violated,” the Miss Universe president added. “Nawat, you need to stop.”

The pageant’s sash presentation has since been postponed to “avoid any interaction” with Itsaragrisil.

Rocha also urged Miss Universe Organization CEO Mario Bucaro to take over talking on behalf of the pageant, and instructed legal motion could also be taken “as a result of the malicious acts committed by Nawat.”

The 2025 Miss Universe pageant made headlines when Itsaragrisil, then still serving as government director of the group, berated Bosch during the annual sashing ceremony on Tuesday.

Itsaragrisil called Mexico’s delegate out for not taking part in a sponsorship shoot, and the whole exchange was caught on video and live-streamed on the Miss Universe Thailand Facebook web page.

“Mexico, where are you?” the Thai businessman requested before Bosch spoke up. “I heard you’re not going to support everything about Thailand. Is that true?”

The pair’s back-and-forth lasted for practically 5 minutes, at which Itsaragrisil called Bosch a “dummy.”

“I still keep talking to everybody, why you still stand up to talk to me,” he questioned Miss Mexico.

“Because I have a voice,” Bosch fired back. “You are not respecting me as a woman.”

The already tense scenario escalated additional when Itsaragrisil ordered security to take away Bosch from the room. In response, more than a dozen other Miss Universe contributors walked out of the pre-pageant event in solidarity with Bosch.

“Sit down,” Itsaragrisil demanded as the contestants fled the room. “If anyone wants to continue the contest, sit down.”

The now-dismissed pageant exec apologized for making those who noticed the shocking video “uncomfortable” in an Instagram post.

“I invested and tried my best to make this event fair to everyone but it’s hard to control because the daily events of being posted makes it harder for him to reach the miss,” he wrote less than 24 hours after the incident with Miss Mexico.

“Sorry universe fans I can only do this because my patience has a limit,” he added. “Sorry again if I make anyone uncomfortable watching.”

“I had not [intended] to harm anyone because I respect all of you,” Itsaragrisil cried while addressing reporters in a separate video. “I am so sorry it happened. First, I have to apologize to the delegates. If anyone was affected and not comfortable with what happened, I am so sorry.”

The 2025 Miss Universe pageant, meanwhile, is still set to kick off in Thailand on Nov. 21.
