Former Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro was seen handcuffed strolling off a aircraft after touchdown in New York, where he is anticipated to be indicted with narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine-importation conspiracy, and weapons costs. 

Following his arrival at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, New York, a metropolis around 60 miles north of the Big Apple, Maduro was anticipated to be transported to the West Side Heliport in Manhattan and then taken to DEA authorities for processing.

The former Venezuelan chief was seen carrying gray clothes and handcuffs. He was being escorted by more than a dozen federal brokers.

Maduro’s arrival in New York comes just hours after he was captured with his spouse, Cilia Flores, in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas. The profitable attempt had been delayed by 4 days due to poor climate circumstances.

“We were going to do this four days ago but the weather was not perfect,” the president told Fox & Friends earlier in the day. “All of a sudden it opened up and we just said go,” he added, describing Maduro’s hideout in the capital as “highly guarded,” and “like a fortress.”

Meanwhile, Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodriguez demanded in a speech that Maduro be launched and taken back to his nation, where he is the “rightful leader.”

Maduro heading to ‘hell on earth’ jail

Maduro is set to be held at the Metropolitan Detention Center, a tightly secured facility in Brooklyn, as he awaits trial.

The detention facility beforehand housed infamous cartel chief Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman before his life sentence, as effectively as Sean “Diddy” Combs, Ghislaine Maxwell, R. Kelly, and Sam Bankman-Fried. Among current inmates is Luigi Mangione, who is awaiting trial on allegations he killed United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

During Combs’ tenure at the ability, he was positioned in a unit identified as 4 North, where he was housed with 20 other males in dormitory-style circumstances, which suggests they weren’t held in cells, according to The New York Post. The space was often used for high-profile inmates who needed more safety.

The space also has fewer restrictions than those with more flooring and more facilities, including an air hockey desk, a gymnasium, and board video games. Further, the boys in 4 North sleep on small twin beds with skinny mattresses and no pillows. They bathe in communal bogs with only skinny curtains for privateness.

The facility has been described as “hell on Earth” by the attorney for Edwin Cordero, who was killed in a combat inside MDC. Cordero’s attorney said his consumer was “another victim of…an overcrowded, understaffed and neglected federal jail that is hell on earth.”

A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson told GWN that the company “takes our duty seriously to protect the individuals entrusted in our custody.” The spokesperson added that the company “review[s] safety protocols and implement[s] corrective actions when identified as necessary.”
