Netflix cancels longest-running series as fans | TV Shows

Netflix has announced that its longest-standing unscripted series will be wrapping up after 10 seasons, leaving fans disappointed.

Queer Eye made its debut on the platform in 2018 and has rolled out nine seasons over six years. The hit reality show, a modern take on Bravo’s 2003 series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, features five LGBTQ+ experts providing life-transforming makeovers to participants.

The original lineup boasted food guru Antoni Porowski, design whiz Bobby Berk, culture maven Karamo Brown, fashion pro Tan France, and grooming maestro Jonathan Van Ness. After season eight, Berk exited the show, making way for interior designer Jeremiah Brent to join the crew.

The streaming giant broke the news of the show’s conclusion on social media, stating, “10 seasons. Fab Five. One last go ’round. The final season of Queer Eye is officially in production!”

Devotees took to X to express their sorrow over the series’ impending end. A fan lamented, “This is not fair! Why is this the final season?!”

Netflix is keeping quiet on when the tenth season of Queer Eye will drop, but they promise it’ll be a grand tribute to the show’s enduring influence, shining a light on heroes from Washington DC.

The blurb for the upcoming Vegas-filmed season teases, “The group will once again assist a fresh crop of heroes with their fine-tuned expertise in style, grooming, interior design, culture, and food and drink.”

It hints at lasting transformations, saying, “As we all know well by now, everybody who comes across the Fab Five leaves with lessons that they’ll take with them everywhere – guess what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas after all.”

With 11 Primetime Emmy Awards and 37 nods under its belt, Queer Eye stands as Netflix’s most enduring reality series.
