Fernández praised Claxton’s improved playmaking as “elite” for his place, now difficult the latter to improve his defensive rebounding.
Claxton had just 4 defensive boards Tuesday.
“Yeah I got to be better for sure. I’m only averaging around like seven or eight rebounds, and we’ve been struggling as a team in that area, so I can definitely step up my game in that department,” Claxton said. “We had a conversation about that, and that will obviously help us get out in the transition.”
The Nets had a second of silence to honor the passing of former Nets All-Star Michael Ray Richardson.
He died Tuesday at the age of 70.
The Nets celebrated Biggie Night in honor of The Notorious B.I.G. The workforce gave out bobbleheads of the late rap icon, and even had a life-sized statue of Biggie that really performs music. Lil’ Kim carried out at halftime.
