As Minnesota’s massive fraud issues continue to gain nationwide consideration, an audit is now sounding the alarm about potential fraud in a new space in the state associated to contracts doled out by the town of Minneapolis in response to the death of George Floyd.
More than 100 contracts had been handed out to neighborhood teams as options to policing in 2020 and the lax oversight of those contracts, according to a Minnesota Star Tribune report, was discovered by an audit to be vulnerable to fraud and favoritism.
