New Twists in Viral MN Daycare Story Amid Response

Minnesota officers have now responded to the viral “ghost” daycare video from impartial journalist Nick Shirley.  

I suspect their response is not going to go over very properly.

Minnesota officers revealed Monday the state is taking a second look at a number of day care facilities featured in a now viral YouTube fraud investigation but say past visits and investigations uncovered no arduous evidence of fraud. [….]

Speaking on Monday, Department of Children, Youth and Families Commissioner Tikki Brown addressed the video immediately.

Brown says each of the ten services featured in the YouTube video has been visited at least once by the state over the last six months as half of normal licensing checks. Now, Brown says the state is now reviewing each website again to test on the claims raised in the YouTube video. […]

Brown said the earlier visits had been unannounced and kids had been current at each of the websites during the checks. The state also says the quantity of kids at the day cares had been constant with what was anticipated at the services.

Brown said that while there had been prior investigations into some of the locations, “none have uncovered findings of fraud.”

According to the report, none of the facilities had their money stopped because of fraud.

In a twist, the story also clarified a report from officers that the “Quality Learing Center” had been closed, saying it remained open. 

The NY Post confirmed that, sending a individual to the Center. Now, on the Monday following the viral video, after all the hullabaloo, there have been youngsters there. A local told the Post that it was uncommon, that the local never noticed youngsters there. 

The Post said they noticed about 20 youngsters, as they staked it out. 

Ibrahim Ali, the son of the proprietor who said he was the supervisor, claimed to The Post on Monday that Shirley’s go to got here before they opened for the day. [….]

He also blamed a graphic designer for the positioning’s now-infamous typo on its signal.

“What I understand is [the owners] dealt with a graphic designer. He did it incorrectly. I guess they didn’t think it was a big issue,” said Ali, 26, who claimed he helps out with homework and paperwork at the ability.

“That’s gonna be fixed,” he said of the signal.

Another reported worker cursed at them, “Get the f**k out of here.” 

KARE 11’s Lou Raguse also said that they appeared to be open, despite the report initially from officers that they had been closed.
