New Years Rockin Eve viewers stunned by Diana | TV Shows

Viewers of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest had been stunned when music icon Diana Ross took the stage minutes before Times Square’s ball dropped. 

The 81-year-old donned a ruby pink robe and matching gown as she carried out a medley of her largest hits about 10 minutes before midnight in New York City.

Online, her followers gushed about her “ageless” look during the New Year’s Eve particular, while one individual criticized the particular’s showrunners for making her carry out out in the cold instead of inside for a pre-taped set.

On X, previously Twitter, one individual praised the singer, “Diana Ross looks & sounds AMAZING,” as another gushed, “Diana Ross looks incredible!!”

A 3rd commented, “Diana ross you are everything and more,” as a fourth said, “Diana Ross still look good.” A fifth questioned, “Does Diana Ross age?”

The 51-year-old American Idol host took over as co-host in 2005. He’s been internet hosting solo since the 2012-13 installment, but has been accompanied by numerous visitor correspondents, including Rita Ora, who has been with him since the 2023-24 version.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve was renamed Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest in 2008, but followers are still not joyful.

On X, previously Twitter, one individual wrote, “Isn’t there a statue of limitations on how many years they can still call it ‘Dick Clark’s Rockin New Year’s Eve’? I mean, WHEN DOES RYAN SEACREST GET HIS SHINE??”

Another individual countered, “New Year’s Eve is not the same without Dick Clark. Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest is not the same, but at least they kept Dick Clark’s name in it, and I respect that. When I don’t respect and don’t understand is why it never rocks anymore.”

Clark died of a “massive heart attack” at a Los Angeles hospital in 2012. He was 82.

Following the TV icon’s death, Seacrest wrote on his web site, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend Dick Clark. He has truly been one of the greatest influences in my life.”

He added, “I idolized him from the start, and I was graced early on in my career with his generous advice and counsel. When I joined his show in 2006, it was a dream come true to work with him every New Year’s Eve for the last 6 years.

“He was good, charming, humorous and always a true gentleman. I realized a great deal from him, and I’ll always be indebted to him for his religion and help of me.”
