Fans of The Walking Dead flocked to social media to show their appreciation for actor Norman Reedus as he said goodbye to his sequence, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The AMC hit was renewed for a fourth and remaining season back in July 2025 and manufacturing has since wrapped, with the Daryl Dixon star sharing an emotional tribute to the show. Reedus reprised his position as Daryl from the unique The Walking Dead sequence alongside Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier.
The fan-favourite duo have been seen in behind-the-scenes snaps shared by Reedus and his post said: “Finally going through these photos to check off from the last episode now that I’m back from Mongolia it was really hard to kill any of them. I didn’t post any of those here, but I can’t wait for people to see this show the crew best I’ve ever worked with the feeling of accomplishment when it was over was just amazing.
“Such arduous work and I so a lot coronary heart put into this I believe you’re gonna really feel it. It was a particular season.
“I can’t wait for you to see it. It hits just way different this time.” [SIC]
Fans flocked to the feedback to share the love, with one saying: “Can’t wait! But it will be bittersweet, I don’t want Daryl Dixon to end! Going to miss him!”
Another added: “Daryl and Carol have been my favorite part of this universe for years. Thank you for putting so much heart into their story. I already know this season is going to be special.”
A 3rd commented: “Can’t wait for the fourth season to air. One of my favorite heroes on TV. An era ends, but Daryl Dixon lives on in all of us.”
While teasing season 4 at New York Comic Con in October, Carol actress McBride said it’s “going to be even better” than season three, as Reedus raved they’re “killing it” on the ultimate season.
The fifth spin-off in The Walking Dead franchise follows Daryl and Carol on their journey home to their family members after washing up in France, where the zombie virus originated.
The first season premiered in September 2023 and acquired constructive reviews from critics, with a number of calling it the best Walking Dead content in years.
