A’zion got here under fire after an X consumer posted a screenshot on Monday of an alleged dialog between a reader and the e book’s creator Holly Brickley.

so given that odessa isn’t mexican, zoe’s mexican roots will probably be written out. this is upsetting. holly brickley is aware of her characters and i’m sure she does have a little bit of a say in casting. she created a MEXICAN character and USED it for her e book. why wouldn’t we be upset. pic.twitter.com/F8kMNn6xhv

“I was just wondering if Zoe’s character will be remaining Latina or the character’s been rewritten?” the fan inquired.

“Surely it will be rewritten!” Brickley replied. “Which happens all the time. For the record in the book Zoe is is half Jewish and half Mexican.”

She added, “But in the script it is not specified. Also I have nothing to do with casting.”

For A’zion, she sees this as an alternative to let the character be portrayed by somebody of Mexican heritage.

“I’d never take a role from someone else that’s meant to do it,” the “Fresh eliminates” actress explained. “That SHOULD do it! That’s not me. There are a plentitude of people more than capable of playing this role and I am NOT one of them,” A’zion concluded her assertion. “I can’t wait to see who it ends up being.”
